I am a forever student of fashion. I grew up in Indianapolis, IN and knew from a young age I wanted to be a creator of fashion. My inspiration came from my grandmother who was a Southern woman with a love of Sunday church hats. My mother also has a knack for putting together her personal outfits and decorating the family home. 

I attended and graduated from Ball State University in Muncie, IN with a B.S. in Graphic Arts Management, and a couple years later I decided to pursue my true calling for fashion at The Art Institute of Indianapolis where I graduated with honors with a B.S. in Fashion Design. 

After pursuing different traditional routes to get into the fashion industry without sustainable results, I eventually made the commitment to take control, do it my own way, and carve out a path. Shayla E. Styling & Creative Consulting was born.
